I’m Back!! - The return of Suzi…

Suzanne Middlehurst   —   10 August 2010   —   Access News

After my successful placement year at Access I’ve been invited back to be a full-time permanent member of staff. It’s great to be welcomed back to the team  – it feels like I never left.

My four year degree in Management at UCLAN offered the opportunity to take a 12 month paid placement. I wanted to gain as much relevant industry experience as I could and make sure my employment prospects were as high as possible, and started my placement with Access just over two years ago. I learnt so much during that year, gaining valuable experience and building up new skills. After my placement I returned to university to complete the final year of my degree; it was tough and a lot of hard work (never again!) but I made it through and came out the other end with a sparkling 2.1.

Throughout my final year I was hoping to go back to Access, so I was thrilled when I received the e-mail asking what my future plans were. I jumped at the chance to become a permanent member of staff and was so pleased they thought of me.

Since my return I’ve been getting back into the swing of things, it’s been great to work with old clients again and exciting to meet the new ones. I feel so lucky to have been asked to come back to Access and am the envy of all my unemployed course mates. I hope to have a long and happy career at Access, and that they are as glad to have me back as I am to be here.

I would recommend a placement year to every student out there, the experience you gain and the contacts you make are priceless. By the end of it you may even be lucky enough to bag a permanent job once your studies are over, just like me!
