Access Advertising was triumphant at the Roses Advertising Awards 2007, picking up a ‘Best Art Direction’ bronze award for its corporate brochure ‘A big agency in every way’.
Access were amongst the lucky winners were announced at a glittering black-tie gala dinner, being held at The Hilton, Manchester on Friday 20th April.
The Roses Advertising Awards, run in association with marketing publication The Drum, celebrates the crème de la crème of the UK’s advertising community based outside of London.
Access’ corporate brochure, which was spearheaded by Sam Yearsley, Creative Group Head at Access for over four years, was nominated for two awards in total – ‘Best use of Typography’ and ‘Best Art Direction’.
The 150 mm square brochure was designed as a novel and memorable way of demonstrating the company’s portfolio and highlight some of the company’s most exciting projects including the 2002 Commonwealth Games branding, Shop Direct’s recruitment and retention campaign and the Liverpool Culture Company’s ‘Sea Liverpool’ conference branding.
Sam comments on the design: “I wanted the brochure to be a three-dimensional piece which told a story about each of the campaigns, incorporating end user’s reactions and the results we achieved for our clients. Each campaign was different so we wanted to demonstrate that in a way that represents Access and our core skills. I am proud to say I think this brochure does this and it sets us apart from our competitors.”
The brochure brings together a mixture of beautiful imagery and typography; examples of creative produced, and powerful client testimonials to emphasise the company’s creative talents. And the exciting use of cut outs, tip ins and fold out pages add another innovative dimension to it, creating a high quality leave behind piece which draws the reader in.
Access’ achievement at the Roses follows a period of success which saw the agency win a number of new clients including: Southport-based caravan company Harrison Leisure UK Ltd, Renshaw – a leading manufacturer of innovative premium quality foods, and McCarthy Recruitment Ltd. who specialise in retail recruitment.
