As long-standing users and contributors to Drupal, and of the Drupal community, Access are delighted to support two key areas of the forthcoming DrupalCon Vienna; Women in Drupal and The Coder Lounge. For the seventh year running, we are providing opportunities to our team to experience and learn from the conference, with four attendees representing us.

What is Women in Drupal?

Women in Drupal is a social event that provides an open but safe environment and recognises and raises awareness of the disparity in web development and tech. Everyone is encouraged to come to the meet up and network with fellow members from the Drupal community.

Access is proud to have strong female representation across every department and has seen the impact of having a diverse workplace in many ways. Whilst women are underrepresented in our dev department, we hope events like this are a step towards changing that. We hope to see plenty of new and familiar faces!

What is The Coder Lounge?

The Coder Lounge is a communal working and social space at DrupalCon Vienna. It’s in The Coder Lounge that you’ll often find the hardcore developers and site builders, skipping the sessions and parties to work on and contribute to improving Drupal for everyone, including our business and our clients. For a global community, this dedicated space facilitates face to face conversations around members’ work and helps Drupal developers to network. It’s open for the whole of DrupalCon, so swing by and enjoy the space!

Mark Hope, Digital Director at Access, had this to say about Access’ sponsorship of the events:

“DrupalCon is an international event that brings together the people who use, develop, design and support the Drupal Platform. As a business we continue to benefit hugely from Drupal and our community that supports it, so we’re proud to contribute to this international event and having the Access name associated with it. We’ve chosen to support Women In Drupal and the Coder Lounge as they’re a perfect reflection of what Access stands for.”
