The Question:
For the first time, a European standard for Visual Alarm Devices has been published. Previously, devices have been specified for convenience rather than effectiveness, but now there is a requirement for those specifying to meet this regulated standard. How could Cooper Fulleon simplify the specification process and reinforce their position as an authority on EN 54-23 compliance within the VAD market?
The Answer:
In order to make things as easy as possible for Cooper Fulleon and their clients, an online tool was created that worked out how many devices were required to fully illuminate a room and how much power those devices consumed. This tool had to fit in with the existing Cooper Fulleon site whilst allowing users to save and retrieve rooms they had created. The calculations themselves were complex and required the use of a number of different factors in working out the space between the beacons and how much power they consumed.
The Result:
Fitting in with the plans of the Fulleon site, the Cooper Fulleon specification tool was rolled out a month after the main site went live. The tool changes and updates itself depending on what users select and the finished room specification can be saved or even downloaded as a PDF. Cooper Fulleon have found the tool so successful that they now require a white labelled version to be available on different languages so that they can allow their own clients to sell Fulleon products.
