Despite the tough challenges facing the public sector, Access advertising has helped Greater Manchester Police to win a Best Community Relations Campaign Award.
The award was presented for the ‘Bang Up Burglars’ campaign, which invited members of the public to report suspicious behaviour or known criminals to their local police officers. Using Ad-vans, bus sides, posters, and postcards, the award-winning campaign ran across Greater Manchester for nine months last year.
Held at the Comedy Store on Tuesday 9th November, this year’s ‘How Do Public Communications Awards’ was a more reserved affair and included a seminar for communicators on making the most of your budget during the difficult economic times.
“The public sector is facing huge financial constraints at the moment and so it’s great to see a campaign working hard and giving our clients a good return on their investment” commented Simon Landi, Managing Director at Access. Senior press officer for GMP, Tariq Munir, added, “This campaign really engaged with the general public and helped us to crack down on crime in Manchester. It is a great example of money well spent and we’re delighted that this has been recognised with this award”.
